Building The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Online

For a good overview of Twitter, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter.

Twitter is a popular microblogging service that allows users to post brief messages about what they're currently doing, share comments on any subject, link to content on the Web, and anything else that can be typed within a 140-character message. Users can also reply to other users' posts (often called "tweets") by typing the "at" sign followed by the username, e.g. "@theJoshMeister Thanks for the link!"

There are a number of Latter-day Saints who use Twitter, including but not limited to:

Larry Richman - Director of Internet Coordination for the Church, Founder of LDS Online
Joel Dehlin - Chief Information Officer for the Church
Cameron Moll - Interaction Design Manager for the Church
Dr. Phil Windley - Associate Professor of Computer Science at BYU
Jesse Stay - Social Applications Consultant, Blogger, Author, Entrepreneur
Josh Long - me; Podcast and New Media Professional, Computer Technologist

There are also LDS-related news feeds that can be followed, including:

LDS Newsroom - Includes news items from newsroom.lds.org
LDS Scripture of the Day - A daily scripture from the LDS standard works
Cougars - BYU football play-by-plays

If you're on Twitter, please post your username here. Please also discuss uses of Twitter as a means of sharing the gospel.

I love Twitter. I have been following the LDS Newsroom for a couple of days now. I found it by simply searching for "LDS" on the twitter home page. That's something to keep in mind when setting up an LDS resource for others to use--make it discoverable to those who use search.

My profile is at http://twitter.com/hankdavidson.

By the way, my favorite way to read and update twitter is using the new "digsby" program--it combines several IM chat clients, email updates, and notices from facebook, myspace, and twitter. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Well, since Big-O didn't talk himself up much, I'll help him out a bit. =) Orien is a good friend of mine, and we share a lot of the same interests, including computer technology, podcasting and new media, social networking, and the TV show LOST. He's definitely worth following if you have similar interests.
